Choose Water distributes Rotary Barrels to villages in Eastern Province.

Barrels provided by Roll Out The Barrel Trust, a UK based charity, were given to 50 families across Eastern Province. Each barrel was given to an elderly or disabled lady who without the barrel is unable to collect enough water for the daily requirements of her family. These Rotary Barrels allow the ladies to roll a water barrel on the ground instead of carrying a bucket on their head or in their arms. Many of the ladies in the villages are unable to carry a bucket large enough because of an injury, disability or old age. The Rotary Barrel gives them the ability to collect enough water without any assistance. This improves life quality and gives back independence to people who have had to rely on others for help.

We just received an additional 60 barrels and are in the process of distributing them, while ensuring that they are properly taken care of.
